My Inhouse Lawyer is hiring fractional senior legal counsel on a portfolio model for SME clients. This is a direct employer hiring into their fractional legal practice, not a placement agency.

The balanced verdict

Why this role stands out
  • Genuinely fractional model with portfolio-based client engagement; not a disguised full-time role
  • Competitive salary pro-rata (£120–150K annually); day rate convertible to c.£480–600/day at 4–5 days/week
  • Award-winning, mission-driven employer with a proven fractional practice; mature business model
  • Remote-capable with flexibility; explicit freedom from office politics and 9-5 constraints
Worth checking before you apply
  • Days-per-week allocation not specified; clarify expected time commitment and client portfolio size before committing
  • Requirement to 'travel to clients and for team events' may limit flexibility gains; confirm travel burden upfront
  • Long-term commitment expected ('not a stop-gap opportunity'); ensure alignment with your portfolio strategy
