The Role

We are working with a start-up organization involved with utilizing AI Automation to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance across people operations. They are seeking a Fractional Chief Technology Officer to provide both strategic leadership and practical involvement in the design and delivery of AI-enabled automated workflows, with particular focus on HR document verification and compliance-critical processes.

This role suits a senior technology leader who is comfortable shaping direction at executive level while also contributing directly to the build and evolution of systems or applications where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

Define and lead the technical strategy for AI-powered workflow automation across HR functions

Design and oversee document verification systems (e.g. identity, right-to-work, credential and compliance checks)

Participate in the hands-on design and build of systems or applications, especially in early or critical phases

Translate business, operational, and regulatory requirements into secure, scalable technical solutions

Advise on architecture, tooling, and vendor selection with a focus on long-term sustainability

Ensure appropriate standards for security, privacy, and governance are embedded from the outset

Experience & Capabilities

Experience as a CTO, Fractional CTO, or senior technology leader in applied delivery environments

Demonstrated involvement in building and scaling AI-enabled systems or automated workflows

Strong understanding of HR platforms, document verification processes, and compliance requirements

Ability to balance hands-on contribution with strategic oversight

Sound judgement around data protection, risk, and system integrity
