Operations Director – UK Dry Risers

  • Location: Alma House | Leading installation projects across the UK
  • Ready to take ownership of a specialist installation business and help shape its next stage of growth?
  • UK Dry Risers, part of PTSG Group, is looking for a practical, commercially minded Operations Director to lead our UK-wide installations business.

Reporting to the Fire Managing Director, you’ll oversee day-to-day delivery, lead the team and take responsibility for business performance. With up to 10 installation projects running at any one time, predominantly delivered through contract labour, success will come from strong organisation, effective resource planning and keeping customers, contractors and colleagues working together.

Our projects are typically straightforward and quick to install, so this role offers a varied workload where good planning, clear communication and sound commercial decisions make a real difference.

What you’ll be doing

Leading operations to deliver projects safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality.

Planning and coordinating subcontract labour and internal resources across multiple live projects.

Taking ownership of the business P&L, managing costs and delivering revenue, margin and profit targets.

Building strong customer relationships, resolving issues and identifying opportunities for repeat business and growth.

Leading and developing the team, setting clear expectations and improving how we work.

Providing accurate forecasts, monthly board reports and clear updates on business performance.

Maintaining high standards of health and safety, customer service and Group governance.

What you’ll bring

You’ll be an experienced manager with a practical understanding of mechanical engineering or installation work, strong commercial awareness and the confidence to take ownership.

We’re looking for someone who can:

Manage several projects and competing priorities without losing sight of the detail.

Get the best from both internal teams and subcontractors.

Understand project costs, budgets and financial performance.

Build trusted relationships with customers and colleagues.

Solve problems, make decisions and keep work moving.

You may already be leading an operations function, or you could be an experienced Operations Manager or Contracts Manager ready for your first director-level appointment.

Why join us?

This is an opportunity to make a visible impact in a specialist business, with the backing of a wider Group. You’ll have the scope to improve operational delivery, develop your team and play a direct role in UK Dry Risers’ continued growth.

Interested? Apply now and help lead the next chapter for UK Dry Risers.
