A Little About Us: Operating since 1968, Newmar Corporation has been helping customers explore the outdoor lifestyle, enabling extraordinary mobile experiences as they travel, live, work, and play. Newmar has been synonymous in the RV industry with luxury, quality, and innovative motor coaches. In every part of our company, we relentlessly pursue continuous improvement and enhanced productivity, driving out waste, and creating meaningful strategic differentiation. Newmar is part of Winnebago Industries, Inc. a leading U.S. manufacturer of outdoor lifestyle experiences under the Winnebago, Newmar, Grand Design, Chris-Craft, and Barletta brands.
At Newmar Corporation, we’ve been crafting luxury motor coaches since 1968 — helping people live, work, and explore in comfort and style. As part of Winnebago Industries, we’re backed by a family of leading outdoor lifestyle brands.
We’re driven by innovation, quality, and continuous improvement — and we’re looking for passionate individuals who want to grow, make an impact, and be part of something extraordinary.
Serve as Newmar’s top finance leader and a key member of the leadership team. Work with the President to protect and grow our premium motor coach business by turning market demand, dealer activity, product mix, plant performance and capital needs into clear decisions. Keep our finances well managed and our controls and reporting at public company standards. Build a strong Finance team that meets Winnebago Industries expectations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Advise the President and leadership team on strategy, yearly and long-term plans, pricing, capacity, investments, companywide risks and operating priorities.
- Show how financial results are tied to retail and wholesale demand, dealer inventory, backlog, model and option mix, production rates, warranty costs and the ups and downs of the RV market.
- Own the budget, rolling forecasts, long-term plan and monthly business reviews. Clearly explain changes in volume, price, mix, material, labor, overhead, warranty and shipping.
- Set up scorecards for profitable growth, margin, cash, working capital, operating results and forecast accuracy, and act quickly when results fall short.
- Lead profitability analysis by model and product line, pricing and incentive decisions, and business cases for capital spending.
- Work with Sales, Marketing, Product Development, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain and Human Resources on decisions about demand, production, cost, quality, headcount, pay and benefits.
- Lead accounting, cost accounting, payroll accounting, month end close, consolidation support and reporting that follows U.S. GAAP, Winnebago Industries policies and reporting deadlines.
- Keep standard costs, bills of material, routings, overhead rates, inventory values, reserves and variance analysis accurate for our complex production, where every coach has many options.
- Own internal controls and SOX compliance. Support the corporate controller’s team, internal audit and external auditors with complete, accurate and timely documentation.
- Improve cash flow by carefully managing inventory, receivables, payables, production commitments and capital spending. Work with Winnebago Industries Treasury, Tax, Legal and Risk.
- Spot major financial, operating, technology and compliance risks, and put practical plans and clear ownership in place to address them.
AI AND PROCESS IMPROVEMENT
- Lead continuous improvement across Finance and the rest of Newmar. Partner with IT to use AI, automation, analytics and workflow tools to cut manual work, improve accuracy, speed up processes and support better decisions.
- Pick projects with a clear business case, secure data handling, rules for responsible use, a plan for managing change, strong user adoption and measurable results. Turn successful pilots into lasting ways of working.
PEOPLE AND CULTURE LEADERSHIP
- Build, coach and keep a strong Finance team with clear roles, expectations, development plans and backups for key positions.
- Build a culture of service, accountability, healthy debate and continuous improvement. Help people across Newmar get more comfortable using numbers and data.
- Lead with integrity, respect and ownership, work well across the company, and stay visible and approachable throughout our Nappanee operations.
MEASURES OF SUCCESS
- Accurate, on time month end close, forecasts and company reporting with no major control problems.
- Better forecast accuracy, a clearer view of margins and stronger model profitability, working capital, cash generation, cost performance and return on capital.
- Proven gains in productivity, accuracy and more from AI, automation, analytics and better workflows used responsibly, with strong adoption and no compromise to security, privacy or controls.
- A strong, engaged Finance team with good retention and ready successors, plus high trust from Newmar and Winnebago Industries leaders.
LEADERSHIP PROFILE
- A strategic, hands-on leader who understands finance, manufacturing, product, sales decisions and technology in a business that rises and falls with the market.
- A clear communicator who turns complex issues into practical choices, risks and next steps, and is just as comfortable in an executive meeting as on the plant floor.
- A change leader with high integrity who can tell real AI and automation value from hype, challenges assumptions and follows through.
- A team player who speaks up for Newmar while doing what’s best for Winnebago Industries as a whole.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance with a CPA and/or MBA/MA in related field required.
- 12+ years of finance experience with growing responsibility, including 5+ years in senior leadership at a complex manufacturer. Experience in RV, automotive, marine or other highly configured products preferred.
- Proven leadership in financial planning and analysis, controllership, cost and inventory accounting, budgeting, forecasting, month end close, internal controls and SOX compliance.
