Master Data Consultant at Vector Logistics

Job Purpose To control, audit and validate the integrity of master data across multiple systems and multiple modules with specific reference to compliance with master data processes and rules. Key Responsibilities Master Data Maintenance: Maintain the standards and alignment of master data attributes across all SAP modules and directly related subsidiary systems within the Company and relevant subsidiaries.
Ensure compliance with master data rules, processes and ensure relevant authorisation/approval of all requests. Maintain and refine master data maintenance documentation.
Interact directly with key stakeholders in support of relevant change management processes with new systems implementation and/or system enhancements. Communicate new and changed master data records and processed requests to the user functions.
Collaborate with Business owners to further develop and publish master data rules and processes to support the master databases. Analyse the life span of master data records for redundancy/deletion in consultation with relevant functional areas/business owners.
Conduct regular master data checks across core attributes to ensure consistency and accuracy. Maintain master data information on depository information mediums outside the official ERP system(s) to ensure that all stakeholders in the Business have access to accurate and up to date master data information at all times.
Consistently comply with and assure the accurate interpretation of individual master data attributes and relevance in the context of the broader business, process flows and interrelationships. Coordinate with the user functions to ensure correctness and completeness of data contained in requests.
Identify potential situations that may impede the successful maintenance of service level agreements in processing master data records/attributes accurately and timeously and implement the necessary contingency measures. Maintain relationships with all stakeholders that utilise master data within the broader information management systems.
Create master data records and relevant attributes accurately and in accordance with policies, rules and procedures across a broad spectrum of systems and subsidiary ERP solutions. Perform independent verification checks/validation of master data take-on and amendments.
Ensure that all master data documentation in respect of both new records and amendments is filed in an appropriate filing system. Extract and provide master data reports and information to the Business as and when required.
Assure the integrity of master data by checking and validating it on a continual basis. Team Coordination: Take ownership and accountability for tasks and activities and demonstrate effective self-management in terms of planning, prioritising and self-development.
Follow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of work are consistently and accurately maintained. Inform relevant parties in the event of tasks or deadlines not met, the potential risks thereof and provide appropriate resolution.
Support and drive the business core values. Manage colleagues and clients’ expectations and communicate appropriately.
Demonstrate willingness to help others and “go the extra mile” to meet team targets and objectives. Participate in regular performance appraisals and ensure that own targets and goals are clear and achievable.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required for the Job Qualifications and Experience BCOM or equivalent qualification. 1 - 3 years’ experience in a combination of a multi-functional, multi-divisional production and supply chain environment. Experience of business processes and disciplines with a combination of at least 2 to 3 divisions and/or functions such as financial/management accounting, inventory and materials management, quality control, product costing, data analysis and reporting etc.
