If you’re looking for a career that will help you stand out, join HSBC, and fulfil your potential - whether you want a career that could take you to the top, or an exciting new direction, we offer opportunities, support and rewards that will take you further.
We’re one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world, with a network that covers more than 50 countries and territories. We aim to be where the growth is, enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper, and, ultimately, helping people fulfil their hopes and realise their ambitions.
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Manager, GCIO CCO Shared Services.
The GCIO Chief Control Office (CCO) team plays an important role in enabling the bank to operate within its risk appetite by ensuring efficient and effective risk and control management. We do this by providing operational risk and control expertise, specialist technical knowledge and a deep understanding of the businesses and functions we serve.
Key activities include implementation and oversight of the Group’s Risk Management Framework, ongoing and targeted controls assessments, implementing and maintaining robust risk governance, and championing a proactive risk culture. GCIO CCO works closely with partners across all lines of defence and is responsible for maintaining positive relationships with our regulators and external partners.
As an HSBC employee in the UK, you’ll have access to tailored professional development opportunities and a competitive pay and benefits package. This includes private healthcare for all UK-based employees, enhanced maternity and adoption pay and support when you return to work, and a contributory pension scheme with a generous employer contribution.
In this role you will:
Lead the execution and continuous improvement of the Control Design Framework and Tooling components of the Control Design Framework Shared Service within the GCIO Chief Control Office, enabling consistent, effective and sustainable control design outcomes across GCIO
Launching and embedding a transition of control design information into structured control data, creating a better user experience and quality of product for all key stakeholders
Ensure our Control Design Framework evolves to support key initiatives including Frontier AI, Technology Risk Management Platform development, the bank’s Platform Strategies and our risk and control metrics agenda
Provide assurance, transparent reporting and constructive challenge on framework adoption, data quality, governance effectiveness and delivery outcomes, escalating material gaps, ambiguities, duplicated accountabilities and unrealistic expectations to the Control Design Authority
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
Previous experience leading small teams required, with remote team leadership experience preferred
Extensive hands-on experience with one or more of the control capabilities in the Technology and Cyber domain either directly or as a 1/2/3LOD control management function
Extensive hands-on experience and subject matter expertise in management of operational risk, non-financial risk and/or technology and information security risk.
HSBC specific, or financial services, or other highly regulated industry experience/exposure is preferred
Experience of product definition, product delivery and operational excellence is necessary
Opening up a world of opportunity.
Being open to different points of view is important for our business and the communities we serve. At HSBC, we’re dedicated to creating diverse and inclusive workplaces - no matter their gender, ethnicity, disability, religion, sexual orientation, socio-economic background or age. We are committed to removing barriers and ensuring careers at HSBC are inclusive and accessible for everyone to be at their best. We take pride in being a Disability Confident Leader and will offer an interview to people with disabilities, long term conditions or neurodivergent candidates who meet the minimum criteria for the role.
