Interim Finance Director — the balanced verdict

Why this role stands out
  • Clear 6-month interim window with explicit temp-to-perm option signals genuine interim acceptance, not a hidden permanent hire
  • Director-level hands-on + strategic scope (budgeting, reporting, FP&A, team leadership, capital/fundraising support)
  • Scaling deep-tech/semiconductor context with complexity (manufacturing, capital allocation) appeals to experienced FD portfolio candidates
  • In-house recruiter, employer direct posting with named contact—high legitimacy and negotiation transparency
Worth checking before you apply
  • No day rate or salary stated; full-time on-site expectation (40 hrs/week, Cambridge) may constrain portfolio stacking
  • Urgent timeline (late Sept/early Oct start) could pressure rate negotiation or availability
  • Temp-to-perm language hints at permanent conversion risk; clarify exit/handover plan if interim-only model is intended
