Redbus Ventures is seeking a fractional financial controller for 2 days per week to build and run finance across the venture fund and its portfolio. The role is explicitly part-time, demands full ACA/ACCA qualification, and requires hands-on portfolio management experience (EIS/SEIS, statutory compliance, multi-entity consolidation). This is a genuine fractional leadership position with clear scope and hybrid flexibility.

The balanced verdict

Why this role stands out
  • Explicitly fractional, 2 days/week with stated day-rate salary band (£80–90k pro rata)
  • Portfolio finance focus suits experienced interim/fractional CFO/Controllers already managing multiple entities
  • Clear ownershipmonth-end/year-end, cash flow, tax compliance, auditor relationships, controls design
  • Modern tech stack (Xero, Rippling) and specialisms (EIS/SEIS, Charities SORP) add career-development appeal
  • Central London office, hybrid arrangement; VC/PE sector attractive to fractional execs
Worth checking before you apply
  • ACA/ACCA mandatory—non-qualified candidates unlikely to progress despite strong adjacent experience
  • EIS/SEIS compliance and Charities SORP experience narrow the field; generalist controllers may need ramp-up
  • 2 days pro rata from a £80–90k band assumes 5 days = £200–225k equivalent; verify if this aligns with market fractional rates for senior finance leads in VC/PE
Fractional-fit score
95/100
