Signature Associates is actively building a fractional finance director network for charity clients across the South East. This is a genuine portfolio role offering flexibility and mission-driven work, though the posting does not specify exact availability (days/week) or a concrete day rate despite labelling both as 'competitive'.

01

Fractional Finance Director — the balanced verdict

Why this role stands out

  • Explicitly fractional and part-time; portfolio-style model with multiple clients
  • Clear sector expertise requirement (charity/not-for-profit) with deep compliance scope (SORP, Gift Aid, fund accounting)
  • Trusted advisor remit to boards/trustees; high strategic impact
  • Supportive consultancy infrastructure and business development backing

Worth checking before you apply

  • No specific days-per-week stated; 'part-time' is vague without agreement on commitment
  • Day rate described as 'competitive' but not quantified — negotiate clearly before progressing
  • Hybrid with on-site client visits implies travel time; confirm geographic cluster and mileage policy
