Fractional CMO, Signify Research Ltd
FRACTIONAL CMO JOB · MARKET RESEARCH SECTOR · BROMHAM, ENGLAND, UNITED KINGDOM
Signify Research is hiring a fractional CMO for a defined cover period in a 11–50-person healthtech market research firm. The role is genuinely fractional and explicitly welcomes candidates with interim/portfolio backgrounds. No day rate is stated; you should negotiate this directly with Will Lovett (CRO). Deep HubSpot expertise is non-negotiable, and the candidate profile strongly favours B2B SaaS/subscription or market intelligence backgrounds.
The balanced verdict
- Explicitly fractional with a defined engagement period—no role-swap risk
- Hands-on player-manager scope — strategic + operational (briefs, HubSpot, campaign delivery)
- Clear KPI framework and revenue-attribution focus; pipeline and commercial impact measurable
- Healthtech/market intelligence sector preference, but B2B adjacents considered; role-holder can influence strategy and projects (SEO rebuild, ABM, brand refresh)
- HubSpot expertise is marked 'non-negotiable'—you must have deep hands-on proficiency, not overview knowledge
- No day rate stated; engagement length ('defined period') not specified—clarify term, hours and compensation upfront
- SME environment with lean resource and 'undefined processes'—high autonomy but also scope creep risk; agree boundaries and escalation routes early

Maintain oversight of WordPress website, Google Analytics and the marketing KPI and measurement framework. 4. Strategic Project Delivery Maintain momentum on priority 2026–27 projects, including: SEO/GEO website rebuild, ABM programme, brand refresh, customer journey and experience mapping & improvements, sales enablement materials and revenue attribution tracking. 5. Commercial and Stakeholder Engagement Align marketing to strategic commercial goals around subscription, advisory and custom research revenue. Partner with sales on pipeline and ABM for Key Account growth. Engage senior leadership, analysts and external partners as required to maintain commercial alignment.
Person Specification: Skills and Experience Technical Skills
- Deep HubSpot expertise across CRM, email marketing, workflows, landing pages, lead scoring and attribution, this is a non-negotiable baseline requirement.
- Strong digital marketing capability across SEO/GEO, content marketing, YouTube, email and LinkedIn.
- Familiarity with WordPress, Google Analytics and B2B marketing analytics and attribution.
- Ability to build, own and communicate a KPI framework and marketing performance reporting structure.

- Strong stakeholder management at ExCo level; confident presenting marketing performance and strategy at board level.
- Proven ability to lead small teams and hold agency partners to account in an SME environment.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication in British English.
Experience
- 10+ years in B2B marketing, with at least 3–5 years at CMO, VP Marketing or equivalent level, preferably gained in a fractional, interim or portfolio capacity.

- Fluent in B2B subscription and advisory business models; experienced aligning marketing to sales pipeline goals, supporting ABM programmes, and demonstrating how content drives pipeline, retention and upsell.
- Able to translate complex, technical research outputs into authoritative, sector-specific content while maintaining a consistent brand voice across all channels and agency output.
Behavioural Attributes
- Strategically grounded: Sets clear direction and priorities; does not lose the strategic thread in the day-to-day.

- Player-manager: As comfortable writing a campaign brief or reviewing a HubSpot workflow as presenting to the ExCo.
- Brand guardian: Holds a consistent standard of quality, voice and visual identity.
- Outcome-focused: Drives delivery, not just planning. Holds self and others to account against KPIs.
- Collaborative: Works effectively with sales, analyst, leadership and agency teams; builds trusted relationships quickly.
- Calm under pressure: Navigates SME complexity, competing priorities, lean resource, undefined processes, with pragmatism and good judgement.
Key Performance Indicators
- Campaign delivery: on-time, on-quality execution of quarterly campaign cycles.
- Pipeline contribution: marketing-sourced and influenced opportunities via HubSpot attribution.
- Agency performance: delivery against agreed scope, quality and timelines.
- Digital performance: web traffic, email, LinkedIn growth and campaign attribution.
- Strategic project progress: advancement of priority 2026–27 initiatives within available capacity.
