Role Description The Fractional CFO (Construction & Trades Clients) will provide strategic financial leadership to multiple client organizations in the construction and trades sector. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing and interpreting financial statements, overseeing job costing and WIP schedules, and preparing financial reports that inform operational and growth decisions. The role will guide clients on financial planning, cash flow management, budgeting, and profitability analysis, while collaborating with owners and management teams to align financial strategies with business goals. Additional tasks may include supporting proactive tax planning, improving financial processes, and implementing KPIs to track performance. This is a remote, contract role, supporting clients on an ongoing fractional basis.

02Qualifications

Strong finance foundation, with skills in Finance and Analytical Skills relevant to construction and trades businesses.

Ability to develop and manage Financial Planning processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis.

Expertise in Financial Statements, with experience analyzing income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

Proficiency in Financial Reporting, including creating clear, actionable reports and dashboards for owners and leadership teams.

Experience as a CFO, controller, or senior finance leader, preferably in construction, trades, or project-based industries.

Knowledge of job costing, WIP accounting, project profitability, and related financial controls.

Familiarity with tax planning concepts and collaboration with tax professionals to optimize outcomes.

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; CPA, CMA, or similar designation is a plus.

Comfort working in a remote, client-facing, contract environment with the ability to manage multiple engagements.

Clear communication skills, strong business judgment, and the ability to present complex financial information in an accessible way.
