RevOps salary · base, bonus and equity, 2026

What a head of RevOps earns, in base, bonus and equity

A RevOps salary at head-of-function level runs from £124,000 to £186,000 in London, on Robert Walters’ 2026 survey of advertised roles at medium-sized companies.

Robert Walters puts the average at £170,800.

BisonRS, a RevOps recruiter, puts a head of RevOps on £100,000–£140,000 base from its own placements.

BisonRS puts a RevOps manager, the rung below, at £65,000–£85,000 base.

Base is only part of the package: bonus, equity, pension and employer’s National Insurance sit on top.

When you hire a head of RevOps through us, we send a shortlist of 3–5, each with pay or day rate, availability and IR35 position set out.

RevOps and revenue roles on the board

Fractional recruitment works differently from a permanent search — shorter, scoped by days a week, and priced on the engagement. Send a Head of RevOps brief and we come back with a shortlist of three to five vetted candidates.

01/ the role

What a head of RevOps does, and what sets the pay

Revenue operations joins sales operations, marketing operations and customer success operations into one function with one set of data.

The head of RevOps owns the CRM, the pipeline stages, lead routing, the forecast, the commission and territory plans and the tools around them.

The seat usually reports to the chief revenue officer, the head of sales or the CEO.

For how the seat is bought part-time, see fractional RevOps jobs.

Titles do not line up across sources.

Robert Walters ranks a head of revenue operations above a revenue operations director: £124,000–£186,000 against £83,000–£124,000 in a London medium enterprise.

BisonRS ranks it the other way, with a director of revenue operations above the head.

Read the scope of the role, not the title, before you compare.

Experience moves the number most.

BisonRS’s UK table puts a head of revenue operations with 3–5 years’ experience at £75,000–£90,000 base, and one with 10 years or more at £125,000–£155,000.

Its RevOps manager band runs from £50,000–£65,000 at 3–5 years to £95,000–£120,000 at 10 years or more.

Backing comes next.

In PE-backed SaaS companies with £10m–£200m of annual recurring revenue, BisonRS puts a head of revenue operations on £110,000–£150,000 base, with a bonus of 15–25% of base and 0.25–1.0% of the management equity pool.

02/ scope

How to set the pay when you hire a head of RevOps

1. Scope the seat before the salary

Write down what the role owns: the CRM and reporting only, or the forecast, the commission plan and the team as well.

A seat that runs a small team and owns the board forecast is a head-of-function hire.

One that keeps the CRM clean for a sales team is a manager hire: BisonRS puts that rung at £65,000–£85,000 base, against £100,000–£140,000 for a head of RevOps.

2. Set base, bonus and equity together

BisonRS’s 2026 guide puts RevOps bonuses at 5–10% of base at Series A–B, 10–20% at Series C–D, 15–30% in PE-backed companies and 15–25% at public or late-stage companies.

It says equity adds 15–30% to total compensation at head and VP level in venture-backed companies.

HMRC’s Enterprise Management Incentives are the tax-advantaged share option scheme most smaller companies look at first.

3. Write the data and commission duties in

The CRM holds personal data, so the role works to the UK GDPR principles: data kept accurate, held no longer than necessary and used for the purpose it was collected for.

If the head of RevOps runs the commission plan, Acas says an employee’s entitlement to commission belongs in their written statement of employment particulars.

If the seat also runs marketing operations, emailing or texting prospects falls under the ICO’s direct marketing rules.

4. Check the sales side of the record

Ask a revenue leader and a finance lead for references.

Membership of the Institute of Sales Professionals, the professional body for selling, is one signal of a candidate who knows how a sales team works day to day.

What we do on a RevOps brief

We recruit permanent, fractional, interim, part-time and temporary revenue leaders, and non-executive directors.

We send a shortlist of 3–5, each with pay or day rate, availability and IR35 position set out, and every candidate goes through our five-stage vetting first.

Permanent revenue operations pay as each publisher states it, all 2026. Robert Walters’ figures are basic salaries from roles advertised in London, with its average of those roles. BisonRS’s figures are base salaries from its own placements; its total compensation includes bonus. Both are recruiters, and each figure keeps its publisher’s title.

05/ economics

What the salary costs the business, beyond the base

A salary is not the whole cost of an employee.

For 2026 to 2027, employer’s National Insurance is 15% on earnings above £5,000 a year (HMRC rates and thresholds).

Under automatic enrolment, the employer must pay at least 3% into a workplace pension on qualifying earnings (GOV.UK).

Many schemes pay more.

The bonus is pay too.

HMRC treats a cash bonus as earnings, with PAYE tax and Class 1 National Insurance deducted through payroll, so budget employer’s National Insurance on the bonus as well as the base.

Senior hires can bring a sign-on cost as well.

BisonRS says sign-on bonuses of £10,000–£25,000 are common for senior RevOps hires leaving unvested equity behind.

07/ revops salary uk

RevOps salary UK: the two benchmarks side by side

The two sources measure different things.

Robert Walters’ figures come from more than 100,000 roles advertised in the UK over 12 months, and its revenue operations rows are for London.

BisonRS’s come from more than 200 RevOps placements since 2021.

For a head of RevOps, Robert Walters’ London range is £124,000–£186,000 in a medium enterprise; BisonRS’s RevOps salary UK band is £100,000–£140,000 base.

Read any single figure as one view of the market.

The useful question is which band your business sits in: its stage, its backing and how much of the revenue engine the seat will own.

08/ revops salary london

RevOps salary London, and outside it

Robert Walters publishes its revenue operations rows for London only.

The RevOps salary London employers advertise runs from £124,000 to £186,000 for a head of revenue operations in a medium enterprise and £52,000 to £83,000 for a revenue operations manager.

BisonRS heads its UK figures “London still leads”, and says remote premiums have disappeared: companies now pay the same regardless of location within the UK.

No source we can cite publishes a separate figure for any other UK city.

09/ revenue operations salary

Revenue operations salary from manager to head of function

A revenue operations salary depends first on the rung.

BisonRS puts a RevOps manager at £65,000–£85,000 base, a senior RevOps manager at £80,000–£110,000 and a head of RevOps at £100,000–£140,000.

Robert Walters puts a revenue operations manager in a London medium enterprise at £52,000–£83,000.

The manager keeps the CRM and the reports running.

The head of the function sets the definitions, owns the forecast the board sees and usually manages sales operations, marketing operations and sometimes data.

Hire for the rung the work needs.

A permanent salary buys a head of RevOps every day, with notice on both sides.

A contractor is paid by the day for full-time cover over a fixed period; see interim RevOps salary for the day rates.

A fractional RevOps lead works part of the week on a day rate; see fractional RevOps jobs.

For the permanent salary spread across part-week days (our arithmetic, not a market rate), see fractional RevOps salary.

A contractor or fractional lead working through their own company falls under the off-payroll working rules (IR35), and a medium or large client decides their status.

Compare the total cost for the days you need, not the headline numbers.
