SLINGCO, a 40+ year industrial cable-handling manufacturer serving energy infrastructure, seeks a full-time Sales Director for EMEA. Player-coach role combining hands-on closure of major deals with team leadership and regional expansion; 50% travel expected. Permanent placement, not fractional.

01

Full-time Head of Sales — the balanced verdict

Why this role stands out

  • Clear commercial mandate — close deals, build team, expand EMEA footprint
  • Strong sector tailwind — energy transition, grid reinforcement, data centre demand
  • Established business (40+ years, 60+ countries) with genuine growth trajectory
  • Competitive benefits including car allowance, private healthcare, enhanced pension

Worth checking before you apply

  • 50% travel commitment is substantial; hybrid working may not offset this for part-time consideration
  • Team size and current sales infrastructure not specified; scope of 'growing UK-based sales team' unclear
  • Salary stated as 'Attractive' with commission—no floor or ceiling provided; should seek clarity pre-interview

THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are seeking a Sales Director – EMEA, with an initial focus on the UK and Europe, and overall responsibility for sales performance and growth across the wider EMEA region.

  • A strong background selling tangible products in industrial or industrial technology markets (utility or power sector experience is desirable).
  • Extensive experience in business development through distributors, wholesalers, OEMs, and large end users.
  • Proven ability to grow territories, close complex deals, and exceed targets.
  • The confidence and credibility to operate at senior customer and partner levels.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills.

  • A full driving licence is required.
  • A degree in a relevant business or engineering discipline is preferred.
  • WHY JOIN SLINGCO?
  • At SLINGCO, quality, safety, and performance are at the heart of everything we do.
  • Our products are designed and tested to exceed the most stringent international standards, because failure is not an option for our customers.

You’ll be joining a growing, ambitious business with a strong culture, clear values, and a genuine opportunity to make a visible impact on the future of critical energy infrastructure across Europe.
