North America Emergency Response Business Development Manager

Position Overview

Arclin is seeking a North America Emergency Response Business Development

Manager to support the growth and continued leadership of the Nomex® and Kevlar®

Personal Protection business across the United States and Canada.

This highly visible, customer-facing role will work directly with fire

departments, distributors, dealers, PPE stakeholders, and industry organizations

to strengthen relationships, influence protective-equipment specifications,

identify growth opportunities, and increase awareness and adoption of Nomex® and

Kevlar® protection solutions. The position will be particularly focused on

firefighter applications, including turnout gear, protective hoods, station

wear, and wildland firefighting systems.

The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of the fire-service community

and firefighter PPE market and the ability to build trusted relationships. Deep

technical fiber or fabric expertise is not required coming into the role. More

important is the ability to understand firefighters, their equipment, their

requirements, and the marketplace dynamics surrounding protective-equipment

decisions.

This is a remote, U.S.-based position covering the United States and Canada with

approximately 50% travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a North American business-development and end-user
  • engagement strategy focused on key fire departments, distributors, dealers,
  • and industry stakeholders.
  • Build trusted relationships with fire-service leaders, PPE committees,
  • specifiers, distributors, and other key market influencers.
  • Engage priority fire departments during PPE evaluations, wear trials,
  • tenders, and specification processes to strengthen the position of Nomex® and
  • Kevlar® solutions.
  • Support both existing business/share protection and new growth opportunities,
  • particularly within station wear, protective hoods, wildland firefighting,
  • and emerging protection applications.
  • Develop relationships with key distributors and coordinate effectively across
  • the broader firefighter PPE value chain.
  • Understand firefighter needs, equipment requirements, protective systems, and
  • relevant market dynamics and translate those insights into commercial
  • opportunities.
  • Provide actionable market intelligence regarding customer needs, competitive
  • activity, emerging requirements, specifications, and market trends.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Technology, Product, and other
  • internal teams to connect end-user needs with appropriate protective
  • solutions.
  • Deliver customer presentations, product education, training, seminars, and
  • other technical/commercial communications.
  • Represent the organization at relevant trade shows, conferences, fire-service
  • events, training activities, and industry forums.
  • Maintain accurate customer, pipeline, opportunity, trial, specification, and
  • market information within Salesforce.
  • Support commercial performance against goals associated with revenue growth,
  • pipeline development, customer engagement, specification influence, and
  • market-share protection.

Qualifications

  • Meaningful experience within the fire service, firefighter PPE, emergency
  • response, protective apparel, or related safety market.
  • Strong preference for candidates with direct fire-service experience, such as
  • a current, former, or retiring firefighter, fire officer, training leader, or
  • PPE committee participant.
  • Sales, business development, or account management experience preferred.
  • Established relationships within the fire-service, PPE, distributor/dealer,
  • or emergency-response community strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of firefighter PPE and protective systems, including areas
  • such as turnout gear, hoods, station wear, wildland protection,
  • specifications, tenders, and wear trials.
  • Ability to build credibility with firefighters and other end users while
  • navigating complex channel and marketplace relationships.
  • Strong presentation, communication, influencing, and relationship-building
  • skills.
  • Ability to translate technical information into practical, credible

discussions with end users. Specialized Nomex®/Kevlar® fiber expertise can be

developed through internal technical resources.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; an equivalent combination of fire-service
  • leadership, industry expertise, technical credentials, and commercial
  • experience will be considered.
  • Ability to travel approximately 50% across the United States and Canada.

What Success Looks Like

  • Success in this role requires someone who can become a trusted resource within
  • the fire-service community, understand what matters to firefighters and PPE
  • decision-makers, and use those relationships to protect existing business while
  • creating new growth opportunities.
  • The strongest candidate will combine fire-service credibility with commercial
  • instinct and understand how to influence the market without disrupting the
  • important manufacturer, distributor, and partner relationships that already
  • exist throughout the firefighter PPE value chain
