The Mapleton Foundry is looking to hire Machinist (Tooling) As a machinist at Caterpillar Inc., you will set up, operate and adjust various gear machines and/or rotary head milling machines to perform precision machining operations on details of dies, jigs and fixtures, miscellaneous tooling, repair parts, prove design parts, etc.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

fabricate, modify, and repair precision tools, molds, and machinery parts for manufacturing processes by operating various machine tools and using blueprints and measuring instruments to meet precise specifications

sets up, operates and adjusts various gear machines and/or rotary head milling machines to perform precision machining operations on details of dies, jigs and fixtures, miscellaneous tooling, repair parts, prove design parts, etc. Use a variety of special equipment and attachments as required

Sets up and operates a special universal grinding machine to perform precise grinding operations on male and female taper spline and serration gauges.

Minimum Qualifications:

035 or more years of manual machining Experience

• Ability to frequently lift and carry boxes weighing up to 35 pounds
• Top candidates will also have:

04Previous machine shop or foundry experience

Computer knowledge

05Verbal and written communication skills

Problem solving and decision-making

06Math skills
