Full-time COO — the balanced verdict

Why this role stands out

  • Clear multi-department leadership scope — Guest Relations, Housekeeping, Spa, Wellness, F&B, Kitchen, Wine.
  • Substantial P&L and budgetary responsibility, plus supplier and labour cost management.
  • Strong people and culture remit — recruitment, development, succession planning across department heads.
  • Appealing setting — regenerative estate, farm-to-table ethos, wellness focus; not a high-pressure commercial casino.

Worth checking before you apply

  • Requires full on-site presence and flexible hours (evenings, weekends, bank holidays) — not compatible with a fractional or portfolio career.
  • Salary not stated; no day rate or annual figure disclosed in posting.
  • Deputy MD cover and 'any reasonable additional duties' language; scope creep risk if MD absent or underinvested.
