pladis Global (parent of Godiva) is seeking a category marketing manager for gifting strategy and portfolio innovation within a premium chocolate brand. This is a full-time, on-site corporate role in a 10,000+ employee organisation, requiring deep category expertise, cross-functional project leadership, and commercial acumen. Not positioned as fractional or interim.

01

Full-time Category Marketing Manager — the balanced verdict

Why this role stands out

  • Significant scope — own category growth agenda, innovation pipeline, seasonal programmes and regional deployment for a global premium brand
  • Structured development — clear reporting line to Director of Gifting; governance and stakeholder alignment built in
  • FMCG premium sector experience valued; gifting and occasion-based marketing are specialist domains
  • Collaborative matrix environment — explicit cross-functional and multi-market coordination

Worth checking before you apply

  • Full-time, on-site expectation in London; no remote or flexible working mentioned
  • Manager-level (not director-level) seniority; reports to director rather than C-suite or board
  • Large corporate bureaucracy — governance, PSL recruitment restrictions, formal decision-making cycles
  • Gifting is a seasonal and project-driven category; performance tracking against KPIs may highlight variance
