  • Must-haveYou'll be recognised as a highly influential people leader who combines strategic thinking with pragmatic delivery.

Lloyd’s is the world’s leading insurance and reinsurance marketplace, bringing together the world’s leading risk takers to advance global progress.

Our strategy is focused on delivering strong underwriting performance, operating an efficient and flexible marketplace, and maximising the capital advantage of the Lloyd’s market — while continuing to build a Lloyd’s we are proud of.

How we deliver this, matters. We take the risk, make things happen, and own the outcome — working together across our global network to turn insight into impact.

As Head of People, you'll sit at the intersection of business strategy and people strategy. Working as a trusted strategic adviser to our Chief People Officer and Senior Executive leaders across the Corporation to drive the leadership, talent and organisational capability needed to deliver Lloyd's future ambitions.

This isn't a role focused on policy or process. It's a role focused on influence, impact and transformation.

You'll work at the highest levels of the organisation, helping leaders make better decisions, build stronger teams and create the conditions for sustainable performance. You'll bring a commercial mindset, a deep understanding of organisational dynamics and the credibility to challenge, influence and inspire at Executive Committee and Senior Leadership Team level. Most importantly, you'll recognise that the decisions made at Lloyd's don't just shape our Corporation. They influence the future skills, leadership and capabilities of the world's leading insurance marketplace.

The opportunity

The challenges facing global business are changing rapidly. New risks are emerging. Customer expectations are evolving. Technology is reshaping work. Skills requirements are shifting faster than ever. To succeed, Lloyd's needs leaders who can anticipate change, build future capability and create organisations that thrive in complexity. As Head of People, you'll play a key role in helping us do exactly that.

You'll sit on the Global People Leadership Team and act as a trusted strategic partner to senior business leaders, ensuring our people strategy enables the delivery of our corporate strategy.

You'll lead conversations around organisational effectiveness, leadership, skills, workforce planning and talent. You'll bring insight, challenge conventional thinking and translate ambitious goals into measurable outcomes.

And because of Lloyd's unique position at the centre of the insurance industry, you'll understand that building capability here can create a ripple effect far beyond our own organisation.

What you'll be doing

  • Shaping and evolving people priorities that support Lloyd's long-term strategic ambitions.
  • Partnering with Executive and Senior Leaders to strengthen organisational performance and capability.
  • Acting as a trusted adviser on leadership, culture, talent and workforce challenges.
  • Developing enterprise-wide approaches to succession planning and leadership development.
  • Leading strategic workforce planning and future skills initiatives.
  • Using external insights and market trends to ensure Lloyd's remains prepared for future challenges.
  • Influencing business strategy through a people lens, ensuring organisational capability supports commercial outcomes.
  • Working closely with Centres of Excellence to design scalable, impactful people solutions.
  • Driving organisational change and cultural transformation across complex stakeholder groups.
  • Acting as the voice of colleagues, ensuring people priorities remain aligned to business needs.
  • What we're looking for
  • You'll be recognised as a highly influential people leader who combines strategic thinking with pragmatic delivery.
  • You'll bring:
  • Significant experience operating in a senior People leadership role within a complex, commercially focused organisation.
  • Proven ability to influence and challenge C-suite and Executive stakeholders with confidence and credibility.
  • A track record of shaping business strategy through leadership, talent and organisational capability.
  • Deep expertise across organisational effectiveness, workforce planning, succession, talent and leadership development.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to connect people decisions with business performance.
  • Experience leading large-scale transformation and change programmes.
  • The ability to navigate complexity, build trust quickly and influence across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • A data-led approach to decision making, combined with sound judgement and insight.
  • Experience coaching senior leaders and helping leadership teams perform at their best.

Above all, you'll be curious, courageous and forward-thinking. You'll be someone who sees beyond today's challenges and helps build the leadership, skills and culture required for tomorrow.

Why Lloyd's?

Few organisations combine global influence, commercial significance and societal impact in the way Lloyd's does. Therefore, this is an opportunity to shape the leadership agenda of one of the world's most recognised financial institutions, while helping strengthen the future capability of a market that underpins businesses, communities and economies across the globe.

You'll join a culture built on openness, integrity, focus and empowerment. A place where diverse perspectives are valued, where challenge is welcomed and where people are trusted to make an impact.

Being inclusive at Lloyd’s is integral to how we work — and how we deliver impact.

We aim to build a diverse, inclusive environment that reflects the global markets we serve, where everyone is treated with dignity and respect and supported to reach their full potential.

We take the risk by challenging traditional thinking and being proactive about inclusion. That means being open and positive about workplace adjustments, prioritising health and wellbeing, and investing in diversity and inclusion training so everyone feels able to contribute and succeed.

We make things happen by turning our commitment into action. Through employee networks, mentoring, volunteering opportunities and sustained investment in professional development, we create an environment where inclusion is experienced day‑to‑day — not just talked about.

We own the outcome by focusing on impact. By bringing together diverse perspectives and the best minds in the industry, we work collaboratively with underwriters and brokers to create innovative, responsive solutions that share risk and solve complex problems across global markets.
