BLAST (esports/entertainment, 51–200 staff) seeks a Group Financial Controller reporting to VP Group Finance. This is a full-time, hands-on technical accounting and tax governance role, leading consolidation, IFRS readiness, transfer pricing, and AP/AR functions across international entities. Broad scope and team leadership required.

01

Full-time Financial Controller — the balanced verdict

Why this role stands out

  • Clear, technically detailed role brief covering consolidation, revenue recognition, IFRS, tax governance and control frameworks.
  • International multi-entity environment with IFRS conversion and ERP implementation projects — strong CPD opportunity.
  • Explicit mention of working with 'fractional tax specialist' shows mature outsourcing approach; finance team has defined structure (VP, CFOO, FP&A Director).
  • Hybrid arrangement; growth-stage company (51–200) moving through fundraising and M&A.

Worth checking before you apply

  • Role is 100% full-time, hands-on leadership of AP/AR, consolidation and compliance — not a fractional or portfolio opportunity.
  • High responsibility density — technical accounting, tax governance, internal audit liaison, ERP workstreams, team management and corporate transactions all owned by one person.
  • No salary stated; no clarity on team size or whether all AP/AR staff report in or are outsourced.

About the Role

The Group Financial Controller leads BLAST's global Financial Control function, with particular emphasis on technical accounting, Group financial reporting, tax governance and maintaining a robust financial control environment across its international operations.
