SALES & PARTNERSHIPS MANAGER

Bay Shores Peninsula Hotel / Woods Cove Inn

ABOUT THE PROPERTIES

This role represents two independent boutique hotels on the Orange County coast, both developed by the same owner and both managed by Parable. Each is small, design-forward, and dependent on relationships rather than volume. You'll build one commercial strategy that plays to what makes each property distinct.

Bay Shores Peninsula Hotel sits at 1800 West Balboa Boulevard, on the narrow stretch of the Balboa Peninsula where the Pacific is on one side and Newport Harbor is on the other. It is a short walk to the sand, Newport Pier, and Marina Park. A top-to-bottom renovation reintroduced the hotel as a 25-room boutique property: serene, coastal, individually appointed rooms, a morning café, and The Penny Rooftop looking out over the marina. Guests rank it among the best-loved hotels in Newport Beach, and they come back year after year.

Woods Cove Inn is a 22-room independent boutique hotel at 2020 South Coast Highway in Laguna Beach, one block from the shoreline and a short walk from Woods Cove beach. Formerly a Sonder-branded property, it was acquired, reimagined by CPD Studio, and reopened as an independent hotel — natural wood finishes, marble bathrooms, and commissioned artwork by local artist Jordan Nicole. A lobby breakfast nook serves coffee, tea, and pastries; there is a pool and a terrace. It sits in a quieter pocket of Laguna, close to the galleries, coves, and coastal trails that bring guests to the city in the first place.

THE ROLE

The Sales & Partnerships Manager is a highly visible, hands-on brand ambassador for both hotels. The role blends sales generation, experiential marketing, concierge-level guest engagement, and community partnerships to grow revenue, elevate brand perception, and drive repeat direct bookings. You'll support the General Manager on strategy and tactics while spending real time with guests, partners, and prospects — bringing the Orange County coastal lifestyle to life at two very different properties.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

Sales & Revenue Generation

  • Solicit, book, and service group rooms, weddings, buyouts, meetings, and leisure business at both hotels
  • Generate new business through outside sales calls, networking, trade shows, and community involvement
  • Run site inspections and hosted visits that show each property at its best
  • Maintain and grow existing accounts while qualifying new ones, and meet minimum sales activity quotas
  • Confirm bookings within rate and availability guidelines, and support shoulder-night initiatives
  • Audit, train, and role-play with Front Desk agents to improve sales conversion
  • Track leads, trace follow-ups, and deliver weekly and monthly sales reports
  • Identify return guests and opportunities to extend stays

Marketing, Brand & Partnerships

  • Manage a monthly content calendar in collaboration with Corporate Marketing
  • Develop partnerships with local businesses and experiences, including restaurants, galleries, wineries, spas and wellness studios, surf and paddle outfitters, boat and harbor charters, and wedding and event venues across Newport Beach and Laguna Beach
  • Capture and share on-brand content for social, web, and promotional use
  • Work with PR teams on media and influencer stays, FAM trips, press visits, and public inquiries
  • Review and audit sales flyers, perks, and promotional materials for brand alignment
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to maintain accurate and current website content
  • Perform quality control across the property and every guest touchpoint

Guest Experience & Operations

  • Serve as concierge and experience manager, connecting with guests on property
  • Create and support special events and activations, including evenings and weekends
  • Build loyalty and positive reviews through personalized service, thoughtful amenities, and anticipating guest needs
  • Act as Manager on Duty during weekends and busy periods as needed
  • Promote a positive, high-energy, guest-focused team culture

Strategy, Reporting & Collaboration

  • Quantify results and hold the team to the sales and service strategy
  • Maintain competitive knowledge of local hotels, rates, and each property's position in its comp set
  • Collaborate with Corporate Marketing and ownership to keep both brands aligned

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • Group and corporate business fills need and low-demand periods at both properties.
  • ADR and guest value grow during high-demand periods, without discounting your way to occupancy.
  • Events, event spaces, and wedding and social packages generate real incremental revenue.
  • Cross-promotions with local restaurants and venues produce measurable referrals and guest value.
  • Third-party guests become direct bookers, and first-time guests become repeat ones.
  • Online reputation and guest reviews improve alongside the Operations team's work.
  • Both hotels are better known in their city and feeder markets than they were when you started.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You're entrepreneurial, organized, and genuinely good with people. You bring:

  • A minimum of two years in hotel sales or marketing, or comparable experience in tourism, lifestyle hospitality, dining, or experiential luxury brands
  • Boutique hotel or hospitality experience preferred
  • Knowledge of food and beverage, events, and experiential programming preferred
  • Excellent presentation, organization, and interpersonal skills, with strong written and verbal English communication
  • Strong relationship-building and client management instincts
  • The ability to prioritize, multitask, and make sound decisions on your feet
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, plus basic accounting knowledge
  • A valid driver's license and auto insurance
  • A passion for travel, art, design, and hospitality is strongly preferred

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Salary Range: $72,000 - $75,000
  • Full-Time
  • Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Team Member Travel Program: Hotel & Dining Discounts
