Full-time Financial Controller, Premier Foods
FULL-TIME FC JOB · FOOD AND BEVERAGE MANUFACTURING SECTOR · ST ALBANS, ENGLAND, UNITED KINGDOM

Premier Foods is seeking a Financial Controller for Procurement & Logistics—a permanent, full-time business partner role in a large-cap FMCG business. You'd drive financial strategy, budgeting and commercial analysis across supply chain spend (raw materials, energy, warehousing, freight), reporting to senior procurement and logistics leaders. No fractional fit: this is a traditional corporate finance leadership role.
Full-time Financial Controller — the balanced verdict
Why this role stands out
- Clear, substantial scope — significant P&L responsibility across supply chain with real influence on strategic decisions
- Visible role partnering with C-suite equivalents (Director of Procurement, Head of Logistics)
- Strong employer (FTSE-listed, iconic brands, 4,000+ colleagues); structured benefits and clear progression to Director level
- Hybrid working model offers flexibility; excellent for a senior finance hire seeking work-life balance
Worth checking before you apply
- No salary stated; 'competitive' is vague—ask early in conversations
- Hybrid model is helpful but role is still full-time corporate (40 hrs/week stated); no scope for portfolio/interim exec work
- Supply chain finance can be complex and fast-moving; ensure appetite for operational engagement alongside strategy
