About This Role

A pioneering SaaS client seeks a dynamic Fractional CTO to spearhead the strategic and technical direction of their Agentic AI platform. This pivotal role demands a blend of strategic insight, architectural expertise, and hands-on technical acumen to guide a team of six developers working with a modern AWS-based stack.

The successful candidate will champion scalability and security, aligning technology decisions with overarching business objectives, and acting as the crucial link between executive leadership and the engineering team. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of an AI-driven SaaS platform, ensuring its timely delivery, adherence to budget, and compliance with enterprise-grade standards.

The role requires weekly on-site visits to central Bristol, offering a vibrant and collaborative fractional jobs environment.

Key Responsibilities

1Define and execute the technology vision and roadmap for the Agentic AI SaaS platform.
2Provide thought leadership on AI-driven SaaS trends, agentic architectures, and B2B adoption.
3Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of 6 developers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
4Guide the design and build of microservices behind API Gateway (REST/HTTP), running on Lambda and/or containerized workloads on EC2/Fargate.
5Ensure scalability and security of the AI platform.

7Act as the bridge between executive leadership and engineering.

Requirements

Proven experience in a CTO or similar leadership role.
Deep understanding of AI-driven SaaS trends and agentic architectures.
Strong technical background with hands-on experience in modern AWS-based stacks.
Experience with microservices, API Gateway, Lambda, and containerized workloads on EC2/Fargate.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Ability to define and execute a technology vision and roadmap.
Experience in ensuring scalability and security of platforms.
